Our name describes us: Emmanuel – We believe that Jesus was speaking truthfully when He said, “I have come that they may have life, & have it to the full” – that life begins with a relationship with Jesus! Baptist – We believe the Bible is God’s Word, & that it’s relevant to our lives & reliable! Church – We believe faith is lived out in relationships! We are committed not only to orthodoxy (sound doctrine), but to orthopraxy (putting what we believe into practice). EBC is part of the Coquille Valley Christian Ministerial Association, a local consortium of churches who cooperate to share life in Jesus. We are associated with CB Northwest, an association of 250+ churches in the Pacific Northwest who share common doctrine, polity & philosophy of ministry.

The VBS Float for the Gay 90's Parade is all ready to go! If you want to be a part of the float ensemble, meet us at Emmanuel at 9:30 tomorrow morning! Woohoo!
We are hosting "A Passion Play" tonight and tomorrow at 7:00pm. Free admission with childcare for 4 and under provided.

Mother of four, Asia Bibi is acquitted by Pakistan Supreme Court today after 9 years in prison for blasphemy (against alla). Continue to Pray for her safe exit as Islamists are threatening to kill her. She had been on death row for "contaminating" drinking water for merely touching the container (she had fetched water for her fellow farm-workers). This is how crazy it is. The following is an except from a news release: In Pakistan, the mere rumor of blasphemy against Muhammad can ignite mob violence and lynchings. Combatting alleged blasphemy has become a central rally cry for hard-line Islamists. Salman Taseer, the governor of Punjab province, was shot and killed by one of his guards in 2011 for defending Bibi and criticizing the misuse of the blasphemy law. The assassin, Mumtaz Qadri, has been celebrated as a martyr by hard-liners since he was hanged for the killing, with millions visiting a shrine set up for him near Islamabad.
